Someone wants to know how to get email transferred over to her flashdrive; or possibly other PC.
There may be more questions as time goes on.

How (or if) to do it depends a LOT on what kind of email client is being used.

What is the email client?

I'm guessing she uses a Windows Mail, or outlook. I'm sure that doesn't help a lot to have multiple options. I know it's Windows, and I'd like to say her daughter knows the website to check her email.
This is the same person whose husband "may have" hacked into my mom's voice mail.
I have no idea what time she has to get emails before her husband does something to the PC and/or emails.

As soon as I know more, I'll let you know.

I hate to seem unhelpful, but surely google would be of more help, and much faster, than asking here? Can't you find out what email she's using just by looking? (And maybe bring a shotgun with you for the husband? For self-defense of course...)

already tried google. not finding much. It's possible that her daughter is helping her in that field with the email.

IHH, perhaps you could suggest some search terms that would give better results.

IHH? I googled that and got

"IHH (protein), a protein which in humans is encoded by the IHH gene"

My guess is, everything is okay, and that her daughter helped her in this.

I'd start with "(email client) transfer emails" "where are emails stored in (email client)", etc. Searching "where are emails stored in windows mail" (which was one of the suggestions in google) tells me that windows mail stores email here: C:\Users\(your account)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail. Just copy that folder to a flash drive.

Actually, considering the circumstances, does she want to store her emails on a flash drive instead of storing them on her hard drive?  So that there is no local copy that can be hacked into once she unplugs/turns off the flash drive, for example?

Trying to protect her emails is pointless, honestly. They're still stored on the email server.

Unless she's using POP3 protocol to download her email since POP3 protocol is typically set to remove messages from the server as they are downloaded.  POP3 used to be the protocol that nearly everyone used.

However, Most other common email protocol styles leave the email on the server.  If she's using a web browser to get her email then her messages are definitely still on the server.  If she's using Windows Mail, you might have to check the settings, but the messages are probably still on the server.  Gmail, probably still on the server.  The same for AOL and Yahoo.
