Self-destruct sequence activated
« on: March 11, 2010, 12:38:45 PM »
Does anyone have the sound-track "self-destruct sequence activated" for Descent? I can't find it anywhere.

This link is a direct link to the re-recorded MIDIs of Descent 1 (but these songs use instruments that most other MIDI players do not. I do not like this version of re-recordings so I will make my own BTW. My MIDI seems to play like most others.). Track number 25 is the escape. At the beginning, it says the line and the rest of the countdown.

My guess is that you are going to use it for one of your levels. Remember, that the classic alarm is in D3. The cameras of Level 11 sound it whenever you are spotted by one. ;)

Your guess is a good guess.  ;)

I didn't think of that we may need this sound, as I didn't want any boring Descent 1 style level - get first key, get second key, get whatever next key is required, and finally blow the reactor.

I believe that the rest of the alarm sounds will be ok, but testing will show.  ;)

These are the D2X-XL hi-res sound versions (44 Khz).  count11.wav is the "Self-Destruct Sequence Activated" voice, and count10.wav is the "Self-Destruct in T-minus... ten" (if I remember correctly this clip starts at T-minus 13 in D1 and D2 to give it time for the whole clip).  nuke01.wav is the mine exploding.
