Thankzies!
I finally got a professional-quality vocal mic and an adapter for it, from myself XD. Using money that I was given by my family. I got an SM58 because I'm afraid a condenser mic won't last very long in this house. And especially not in this room! And I got a new cover for my bed from my parents -- I'd somehow torn an enormous hole in the old one, pretty much overnight! Maybe I do turn into a sharp-clawed cat in my sleep. :P
And I got lots of nice cards and even more importantly, lots of people who I can say Thankzies to!

Happy birthday!
SM58s are definitely good mics; they're used all over the place, because they're so reliable and consistent. I've done vocals through them at a couple different venues, myself, and they've always been excellent.

Happy Birthday, Kia! :D

Thanks!
@ Foil, I assume you mean public speaking, or very large work-related meetings... but I don't know for sure. ;D What "vocal work" is it that you do? Meetings, even large ones, seem like a mic would be unnecessary come to think of it... so what are the sorts of things that you speak about? If you don't mind my asking.

Happy b-day, Kaiaatzel! :D

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant "vocals", as in singing for a band (or in my case most recently, a simple guitarist/vocalist duo). I've used SM58s a number of times when singing at different venues, and they've always performed really well through my whole vocal range. Enjoy! :)

Oh kewl.
I thought, if you were a musician, I would know about it by now. So I foolishly discarded that assumption.
