I see Miner Wars 2081 is now on Steam.
-
And it's actually finished and officially released.
It was the #2 top selling game on Steam less than an hour after its release so I'd say things are looking pretty good for Keen Software :D.
I know what I'm getting at least one person for Christmas...
-
Honestly I'm not sure if I'll buy it or not. Any idea how long it'll be on sale for?
-
I looked at some of their new trailers for the game a few days back, and I must admit I'm sorely tempted to buy it as well, or at least obtain some kind of demo or something so to try it out real quick before making a final decision...
-
They've had demo builds for each version out since pre-alpha so go crazy :)
-
Yeah, I need to stop mucking about and actually download some now. :P

For as long as the company is alive.
The game is finished. It has a great story mode (I can vouch for that, I betatested it) with co-op, complete multiplayer, an in-game editor...
This isn't some new pre-alpha or alpha or beta build, it's a finished game now. And a good, polished game at that. Also the intro cutscene rocks.
I have been having some trouble with the security sensors on mission 13. But that's not technical trouble.

It may be released, but I would not say it's "finished". They are still lacking joystick and game pad support. There is an issue with banking, they only support a single joystick, you cannot independently configure axis, etc...
There are still bugs. Lots of reported crashes (including me) and issues when using multiple monitors (me again).

How long it will be on sale, not how long it will be for sale.
