Among Shards Possible Miner Wars…
Possible Miner Wars Contribution - Among Shards

A possible contribution to the Miner Wars soundtrack.  If possible, I'd like peoples' opinions on whether it's good, and whether it sounds cinematic.
It makes me think of a lava world (or partially molten asteroid).

It's the leads. They still sound toyish, not all of them, but the contrast between large drums and thinnish leads reminds of MIDI files on SB AWE32. Bells and leads need more definition and a less tinny sound.

Well the lead I made is called "Electric rubber band guitar"...
I can for sure change it though, what kind of instrument would you recommend for a cinematic feel?  Keep in mind I've already used up my one instance of the soundfont player (any more than that and they all stop working), and I've tried various electric guitar synths (including the one you posted) and none of them sounded good.

As for the bells... unfortunately that's the best vibraphone sound I have (and can afford) at the moment.

DMI Hammer - chromatic percussion synth.

Here's a quick preset: http://s-chapel.audiophileroom.com/Instruments/DMI%20Hammer%20-%20Vibrationphone.fxp

Try tuning the LFO for more realism.

Zynaddsub-FX distorted guitar from "Paranoid": http://s-chapel.audiophileroom.com/Instruments/0005-Dist%20Guitar%205.xiz - throw to /banks/Guitar

The leads are all right, they just don't stand out much. Chorus or some other "fattener" might help on them...

Updated it.  I changed the vibraphone, added more chorus to a lot of instruments (including the lead), gave the bass drum more punch and made the choir pan.  I think it's slightly louder now too.  I also modified some automation on the filters.
