the dancing baby.........(blank expression, slight fear)
That was one of the first things I saw on the internet, people talking about that so much.

I think when I was in fifth grade, I had a folder in my binder that had the dancing baby on it...dunno what happened to it.

If I'm lucky, I got rid of it, cuz I don't think I want it anymore. :P

I don't think it's intended to be cute...

I thought it was funny in fifth grade. Now I think my opinion of it runs about the same as Vanguard's...

Cake. Pretty much everywhere you go, when someone's talking about cake. It's a lie.

Nice to know I'm not the only one that does not find it cute. My guess it may have been some demo to see what flash or some graphic card was able to do.

Having done that ... Getting back to iconic characters of the Internet, I'm surprised no one has mentioned this:
Dancing Baby

... but that may be a bit 'old' for some of you, so I present...

This very iconic character of the Internet  ;D

I always feel like Crazy Frog stole the whole "Insanity Test" sound effect and shoehorned the song into it... But I'll always remember going on the internet and seeing that picture of a red race car and hearing that sound effect.

Also, that dancing baby was one of the first images I can remember from the internet. Terrifying.
Do not read this post.

what came first though, the insanity test or crazy frog? I remember that test, and the red race car.
something like, "if you don't laugh, you're crazy" or "impossible NOT to laugh."

Ditto, but I don't know which came first either.

Somehow I haven't lost sleep over this fact. ;)

Correction: I checked one thing out. If you laugh, you're insane, according to what they say.
