[News] Improved D2X-XL explosion fx and radar

D2X-XL has received some improvements in the department of explosions and smoke. Find a video in my worklog or here:


Another nice improvement is the new radar which finally has some looks that do not make you wish to turn it off immediately anymore, and above that has better configuration options:



The dashed circles move as you maneuver, giving the radar display a nice 3D-ish appearance.

Eh, my favorite form of radar is still the little mini-automap you could turn on in one of your missile windows. That one I can actually read and understand quickly and in the heat of the moment. :P

The new explosions look cool, though. :D

That only shows you what's in front of you though, while the RADAR is a 360 degree display of what's around you. It has helped me most when tracking down boss robots hiding somewhere in a big boss area with lots of sections or hiding places.

You know, they should introduce this kind of radar in modern fighter cockpits... rather than those outdated, 2D thingy they call a "radar"!
