How big is this speck of dust we call home?

APOD: 2011 February 22 - Star Size Comparisons

The planets disappear in relation to the size of the largest star known... And yet, that star itself is but a speck in the universe!

how interesting. did sound help? I have mine off right now (at work). I think the only thing I would have preferred was to have it side by side, not have it scroll back, because anything scrolling back will only get smaller.
but still. a lot of planets, stars, etc.

No, the sound was just music, IIRC.  Did not add anything other than ambiance.  :o

Wow. Very cool; I hadn't realized how many orders of magnitude star size could vary.

The bigger stars they showed, the more I started laughing. I nearly fell out of my chair when they showed Earth next to the last sun.

I love it!
