June 2009 Desktops
« on: June 10, 2009, 05:38:54 AM »
We haven't done this in a while, but a screenshot Darc posted reminded me of this. Thus, I felt it would be fitting to start up the monthly desktop threads again. Show us what you got for June, 2009.  ;)

I'll begin with mine.

NOTE: Yes, I did have to use an on-screen keyboard to take the screenshot because MacBooks don't have any shortcuts for that (as you can see from the taskbar). I edited it out of the screenshot, however.  :)
I, for one, hope this is much, much more than a reconnaissance mission.

Hmm, attachments don't want to display for me. Nor avatars. I'm thinking these boards hate me, but as for desktops:

Hand rendered, all it needs are better textures ;P

Edit by WillyP: Here's the pic, IB, edit this post to see the code. When posting, the second row of buttons, second button from left, pastes the image code into your post. Then just add the url between the tags:

Here's the desktop to my bedroom computer (which I don't use too often any more).

Then we've the got current desktop I've got for my laptop, which has been getting a LOT of use lately. :)

The last one stems from the webcomic "Lackadaisy" which is consequently the same place my avatar and sig comes from. :)

I really like the quote from May 15, Scyphi.  ;)

EDIT: Why can't I ever spell your name right? I always interchange the "y" and the "i." It's killin' me. Lol.

The issue isn't uploading -- It's seeing uploaded files. They just don't display. I thought it might have been a browser thing, but last night I tried in firefox and didn't see them either.

Simple, yet elegant. And definitely old school.

And I note that most of your icons on your desktop are all for Descent. :P

Speaking of icons, you got enough there, WillyP? :P x2

You liked that quote, huh D2Junkie? Thanks, I came up with it myself one day (presumably May 15th, as you noted :P) and decided to jot it down. And don't stress too much over the correct spelling of my username (tho thanks for taking the time to make sure it's correct :)) for you aren't the only one who apparently has trouble getting it right.

Which is kind of odd, when you think about it. I never really thought it was that hard to remember how to spell, but then I guess that's just me. :P

Well, then, I'll just give you one of those powerups you don't care about for that quote.  :P  ;D

This is my Mac OS X Tiger desktop. I keep it a bit more cluttered than my Windows desktop. Still need to grab a screen of the Linux desktop (yes, I do have three operating systems on the same laptop. So sue me).  ;)

Nice thumbnail-thingy Darc, how'd you pull that one off?

Cool pic too. Did you make that yourself? :)

When you upload an image to the Gallery, it gives you a code to link it in the forums.

Here is how i did it. Step one, upload a picture to PD.net in the gallery. Step two, find the BBC embed code. Step three, Decide to make a post that requires a picture. Step Four, copy the BBC embed code. Step five, paste the BBC embed code in your post. Step Six, post your post. Step seven, enjoy your pretty picture!  :D

No i did not make it, i found it somewhere in PD.com

Basic thumbnails aren't very hard at all. Just put your image tags in url tags, and it should work (I've never tried it with SMF, but I doubt it's any different than PHPBB or VB or whatever)
