A favor about getting an avatar
« on: January 14, 2011, 06:42:38 AM »
It seems like the time to change, and being I may be getting an iMac soon, my Mandriva avatar may be going.

In this topic, you will see that someone used a GIF image to type out his name. I was told it may not work in an avatar. My question is this, is there a way to type out "VANGUARD" in flames (can be a still frame) with a black background?
How would that be done if so? If someone has the software and can do that, I'd greatly appreciate it, or just let me know how. I do have GIMP on Linux, if that is one way to do it.
If one does it, VANGUARD (all in caps) would be best.

Thank you one way or another.

If you're talking about the flame animation, if at the proper size it should work fine. For a little while I was using an animated avatar myself.

Yeah, those flames. still frame or not, I don't mind. Either one should suit me just fine. how is that done? is that through GIMP?
