It went fine for anybody who's actually a fan of the books.  ::)

I liked the sixth movie best so far.  They did a very good job on that movie, especially considering the book was rather lackluster.

It's funny the differing opinions that are coming up about the Harry Potter franchise on a whole. Just a reminder to yourself that not everybody thinks like you do, I guess. :P

@ Matt: Are you suggesting I'm not a fan of the books? Blasphemy! I have all seven nearly within arm's reach from right where I'm sitting typing this! In fact, if we really want to get down to it, it's because I like the books so much that I haven't been too big on the movies. :)

I never quite understood the "you have to read the books to like the movie" or to at least know what's going on.

Maybe this is just Lord of The Rings, but if the movie is 3 hours+, wouldn't you think it's long enough to not need to read the books? plus, it having three titles. 9 hours plus of footage, and you almost need to read the books too? I say publicity :)

I haven't read the books or seen the movies for Lord of the Rings (I've read The Hobbit and that's it).  My friend and I are probably going to do a marathon LotR movie watching session during reading week though (we did the same thing with Pirates of the Carribean the year before last... until then I hadn't seen those movies either).

That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that you haven't read/didn't like the book, don't complain about the plot of the movie.

Hey, I refrained from commenting on book/movie 4 (my least favorite). :P

Point taken, though. :)
