Vanguard / Vanguard with no shadow

my name should be shadowed, nothing else. And now, I, Vanguard should be shadowed. this ain't making any sense what I'm saying :)

color bit works, but I thought glow was more of a text that glows, this is more like highlighting. all is good. just checking out what's on here  ;D

also, what does this shadow thing do anyway?

A lot of the effects appear to be browser-dependant. IE renders the glows as follows:

but chrome just highlights them.

Shadowing is showing nothing though.

That's what I thought it was suppose to look. I am on Firefox. If the codes are the same, how can they have different effects on different browsers?

yeah, and shadow isn't doing anything different.

What IE version do you have? Using IE here at work, it shows the same as Firefox.

7 (the minimum version that will render PNGs with alpha channels)

As for why I'm still using 7... it's because I rarely ever touch IE anymore and I just haven't been bothered to update.
