Ok, they still need to sign treaties with a pen. 

But really, it's metaphorical anyway. Of course it's not really the pen, anymore than it's the plastic and metal your keybord is made of, it's the ideas, and sharing of such. And the power of persuasion.  It's only when that fails, that we whip out the BFG and blast anyone who dares disagree!

I'm with WillyP on the pen.  The pen is used to sign the treaties that end wars.

When you really get down to it, there's not much point in wars, a lot of them could've been avoided if people were not so quick to use the guns over the pen.

In terms of peaceful application, I'm a fan of a good .308 or .30-06 rifle with a nice scope. Good for hunting purposes or marksman training. In terms of self-defense, I'm actually considering the Springfield Armory XD40 3" subcompact with light rail. In terms of war, there is unfortunately the need to fight at times, but I'm with the above pen (or keyboard) comments.
