I have a .300 Savage, I love it.  I had a Winchester 30-30, it was pretty weenie compared to the Savage. The Savage has a nice solid feel to it, it has a nice weight and very smooth action.

When you really get down to it, there's not much point in wars, a lot of them could've been avoided if people were not so quick to use the guns over the pen.

actually, wars could easily be caused by the pen. just look at flamewars, for example. give them less braincells, more beer, a standing military, and put them in charge of nations. war's ready in 30 minutes! :D

Oy yah! I've got a Glock .40! GLOCK!

You know, forget the AA-12 frag rounds, get grenade rounds and start you own mini-rapid mortar strike! And screw Call of Duty in the hind quarters. The AA-12 is so nerffed just like my other 2 favorite guns; the P90 and the Barrett. (I just felt like saying that)

A very good point, Canceler, exactly what gives the metaphorical "pen" so much power as a weapon...for both peace AND war.

My father has/had two WWII Japanese Sniper Rifles that had been bored out (after the war) to .300 (we used .300 Savage shells).  That made the sniper sites inaccurate and the loading mechanism was ... buggy because it wasn't designed for that size, but they were otherwise pretty nice hunting deer (though kind of heavy).

I have no firearms at all.  Though I was once arrested at gunpoint (and released with no charges) accused of waving a firearm in public.

No offense intended, of course, to Techpro.

I played paintball once.  It was surprisingly fun, and I was surprisingly good at it... I took down most of the opposing team with more than half my paint to spare (while everyone else used up all their paint when they missed :P).  I used the same strategies that I use against class 1 drillers in D1, only they worked better in paintball...

And this is the closest I've got to shooting a "real" weapon... and I'm not going to get any closer.

Airsoft is more awesome and closer to real combat because you use almost exact copies of the real weapons. They also hardly ever jam. I got the pleasure to use a Tokyo Marui P90 which used to actually be used for Navy SEALS training.
