Interesting.  I'm familiar with it (at least have seen it and have heard news/chatter about it from time to time).  Just goes to show we don't have an NES in the home.

We have one, and an Atari 5200, but the NES is missing something.

Finally sat down and played this, got as far as level seven before my laptop's battery ran low and I figured that'd be a good place to stop.

All in all, pretty good, though I was kind of upset that Dreena base had been toned down a little, and I did notice a number of unaligned textures that probably should be fixed before the final release. And there was one level (I forget which) that had it's exit tunnel glitch (the camera suddenly slid out of the tunnel and out into the emptiness of cyberspace, and seemed to keep going until I hit escape, which made it jump to the next level) but I'm not sure if that was a fault of the level set or D2X-XL. Wouldn't be surprised if it was D2X-XL, I'm still working on getting the bugs out of my installment. One issue I'm facing, for example, is the fact that when a lot of sounds are playing at once, they kind of blip out into silence until things calm down again, and they start playing again. I suspect it's due to how I've got D2X-XL set up in the sounds department, but I haven't found the right setting to fix it yet.

But the level set, as much as I've seen, has been pretty good. Architecture isn't overly complicated, but not too simple either. Difficultly started out easy, but slowly getting more and more difficult, which is good. So yeah, all's good save what I've already mentioned. :)

Well, the level set is okay, good difficulty gradient you've got there. Almost got killed on one of the later levels, but barely escaped with hostages aboard!  8)

But those distorted noises of the robots are a pain for my ears... :o

I revamped level 12 from scratch using DLE's new features such as the new Curve Generator function. I'll put up screenshots soon or later.

(Apologies for the bump)

The beta file has been updated with a lot of tweaks with the implementation of the Texture Mapping tool for DLE.

Sample Screens of the tweaks-

Known goof: In level 4 in the blue area, there is a excess grating alignment when viewing the Pseudo-outdoor area.
