Issues with Descent Mission Database
« on: July 09, 2010, 05:17:00 AM »
Hey all. I'm trying to upload the finished version of my "Maxrim's Boss Computer." But whenever I go to do so at the DMDB, i get a huge load of "MySQL" errors after the upload is complete. The upload stuff says it went fine, and when I click to view the mission, it shows the errors and not the mission. I've tried re-uploading at least three times, and it has not come up at all.

Should i try making a new account there, or what?

The DMDB is not assciated with Planet Descent in any way, the owner of the DMDB is, as far as I know, not even a member here. IIRC he goes by 'Sniper' on the DescentBB. I take it there is no option to contact him through the DMDB site?

Ack, sorry, I didn't realize that this was probably not the right place to post this.  :-X

As far as I know, there isn't a way to contact him. I suppose I should go and uncover my account over at the DBB, but it doesn't seem like it's happening to other people, ex. "SapphireWolf", who just recently uploaded another mission there.

I believe Sniper is also on the DXX Rebirth forums.  Since this is a D2 mission, it would probably be okay to PM him there.  (He definetely goes there more often).

DXX-Rebirth's sniper is not DMDB's Sniper.

speaking of uploading. How do you do so here? Because I've looked all over the Files section and do not see an upload option anywhere!

You may need to have a certain number of posts first (10 posts, I think, enables all the PD features), so that PD knows you're not a spambot or just uploading malicious software.

Post count of 5 allows you to create a gallery folder and upload to it, and to the files section also.

Proof! I demand proof! 2 more posts should be sufficient proof.

And if you argue about it, she'll be able to upload in no time. :P

Let's argue so I can get more posts and start uploading $hitz!

EDIT: Btw, this is a travesty, I cannot upload to a specific Descent 1 Missions category? How racist! LOL
