I don't recall there being even a hint as to why you should bust asteroids in the game. That leaves a very wide latitude for the movie writers to pretty much do whatever they want. Saying it's based on the game just generates a lot of buzz. In the end it will be judged on it's own merits.

True, but still...it seems kind of pathetic that three movie companies were fighting over the rights to get the honor of doing just that.  :-X

And besides, what's the point of basing a movie off of something if you aren't really even going to stick with what made the thing you're basing it off of what it was.  :-\

A lot of people have fond memories of playing that game back in the day. Personally I wouldn't go see the movie based on that, but then I was never a fan of the game anyway.

Well, IF it does come true, it will be one of those "so stupid that you have to see it" movies for me.

Oh yes, it'd have to be in "stunning" 3D, Matt. That's a requirement for movies, if they want to succeed finicially, apparently. :P

Personally, I was never really into the 3D fad, not helped by the fact that it's hard to wear 3D glasses over your regular glasses. :P

Though I've heard that Avatar looked good in 3D...  :-\

3D glasses over normal glasses is a little uncomfortable, but not enough so to offset the awesomeness that is 3D.

It is when your nose apparently isn't big enough to keep both on your face. :P

Why?  Should everyone have a nose big enough to have both glasses and 3D glasses on at the same time?   :-\

My nose isn't big and I've never had problems.

Bring duct tape? :P
