Life... But Not As We Know It
« on: April 10, 2010, 04:52:53 PM »
Imagine another world, one where a creature can survive dehydration, boiling temperatures, and freezing in liquid nitrigen. Well, you don't have to imagine anything, it's right in your own backyard. Just rehydrate it and it comes back to life! Oh, and did I mention this creature can have it's dna chopped up, reassemble it, and even absorb dna from it's enviroment and mutate it into it's own? Amazing... and it shows what little we really know about the world around us. The transmode virus has nothing on these little buggers!

Hmmm. Maybe we should be dropping water on all of the planets and moons and see if anything wakes up.

Maybe, but we need that water right here.

Ever heard of those kits you can order for the "raise your own Sea Monkeys"?  Those are a tiny (very tiny) variety of shrimp and is shipped to you in a dry powder.  You add water and within a couple days you have tiny little  shrimps swimming around in the Sea Monkey tank.  They gather these tiny shrimps in desert areas.  There in the desert it may rain and fill small ponds and puddles with water that stays around for a number of days or weeks before drying up ... and in that time the tiny shrimp will live their entire life cycle. ... And return again (well, the next generation) after the next big rainy season.

They say money is the source of all evil.  :-\

I have also heard that politics is a necessary evil, but I say, does it necessarily HAVE to be evil?  >:(

Anyway, getting back on topic...
