Descent Mission Mirror
« on: January 31, 2021, 04:03:24 PM »
Hiya,

I'd be interested in downloading Planet Descent's entire mission repository for D1/D2, and possibly D3 if the level sizes aren't too big.
I have a website, and I'd be fine with hosting them there.

I'd love for a mod to get me a nice link so I can download EVERYTHING all at once, as a single massive folder.

Honestly at this point it makes sense to set up a torrent for the archive.

Yeah, what WillyP said: I figure the DMDB is going to have a more complete archive of missions than PD does at this point anyway.

PD does have some other content (like music) which are very hard to find though. I'd still be interested in a mirror of the whole file section (as a torrent?). If it's created properly you can even browse specific folders and files and only grab what you want.

A lot of those additional files can also be found on other sites too, though. For example, Hunter's Descent Files, including all of the music--it's become my personal go-to site for those sort of things.

That said, I'm sure there have been a selection of files that were only ever uploaded to PD...but without going through a seeing a complete list, I don't know how much demand there would be for those files.

In any case, it's WillyP's call, he's the one with the level of access to make it possible.

Check out https://www.enspiar.com/dmdb/index.php for missions.

This site is dead. Where are descent missions from this site?

At this PlanetDescent site, you can find our collection of links to repositories of D1/D2/D3 missions by visiting the Descent Levels / Mods gourd.  Look the the thread”Hwere to find Descent missions (http://www.planetdescent.net/index.php/topic,301.msg3059.html#msg3059 ).  By far, the most complete collection of D1/D2 missions is the http://d3fischlein.de/ site, and also has nearly all D3 missions as well.  Just make sure you choose the Langruage you need to understand the sire.

More missions can be found in the other posts in that thread.

Just a heads-up; I have access to the DMDB account on this one, so please contact me via PM if you want your missions to be migrated from under the DMDB placeholder account to your account. (Please specify the author name if it's noticeably different from your username)
