Hmmm... Only just now read this thread (I've been "absent" from the forums a bit lately).

I would be surprised (actually, would quite a bit surprised) if Microsoft has moved the function in Win 8 much from where it's been since Win95.   I would also have to wonder about the truth of not having stereo mixing anymore...

If I remember while at work, I'll poke around on a Win 8 system I've been using for some testing...

NVM! Did a driver update for my sound card, and it fixed it. Thought that would be covered in one of the many automatic updates, but apparently not.

I like to think I have a Descent taste of music.
