Topic: Descent 3 (Linux) - Game crashes after introduction

I installed Descent 3 on my computer (PCLinuxOS), and the installation went fine. I did as they said, place in disc 2 to run the game. Intro works fine, sound and audio. however, at the end (when you see the ship burn and the words DESCENT 3 come up), the game just ends, and I see myself back on the desktop.
No warnings that I can see or hear.

You might have more success posting over at one (or both) of the DBBs.  I know there are folks there who have used the D3 Linux port; I'm not sure anyone here ever has.

four different forums (five if you include my attempt at this years back on another linux distro), and......so far nothing.

i don't blame anyone. Linux in itself is rare to most. And to PClinuxOS, Descent is probably a rare thing as well.
